Ad Number:1673999
Date Placed:02/04/24
Name:Dennis Vaughan
Phone Number:3186520613
Callsign:KG5FNU
Category:AMPHF
Heading:Alpha 78 Manual Tune Amplifier- $2000
Ad Message: Alpha 78 Manual Tune Amplifier - Used, never stored outside non-smoker owners
The Amp shows some wear, nicks, scratches, dents and some other slight imperfections.
This ETO ALPH 78 Amp is in working condition. The tubes heat up and meters light up, front panel
meters work. The Fan runs.
This AMP is being sold as is.
AMP is for HF Radios including 160-10 meters.
Buyer should have sound knowledge of how this Amp works and it's settings.
Manuals included.
It is set up for 220v, but that is easily changed to 115-120v .
UPDATE I've been testing & running the AMP and it is transmitting fine with good radio check reports the watt meter shows briefly it showed 1200-1500 at 100 watts 700-800 watts when fed 50-60 watts in.
At 25 watts in on SSB loafs around 300 watts out. Tubes are not reaching abnormal temps or grid numbers.
My problem with testing this amp is lack of a dummy load and suitable antennas.
This is a working AMP.

Your Response to this Ad:

Due to the amount of non-ham scammers trying to respond to the ads, I am now asking a simple question that ham operators should easily be able to answer, but scammers may not know the answer: What is the number that hams use to represent the phrase "Best Regards"? This number is typically transmitted by hams at the end of a QSO.
Best Regards:
