|  ANNOUNCE - Hurricane Helene 1 Year Later Net
This evening, Monday, September 29th, 2025, Dan Gitro (K2DMG) will host a Memorial Net using Special Event Callsign N2G, marking the one-year anniversary of the emergency net that followed the devastating impact of Hurricane Helene.
This ad-hoc net began as a simple call to check if anyone needed assistance after the hurricane dumped over 30 inches of rain in the mountains of Western North Carolina—an area unaccustomed to storms of such magnitude. Within moments, it became clear that this was no ordinary net. It quickly evolved into a critical communications hub, facilitating emergency medical assistance, rescue coordination with helicopters, rescue crews, and the reporting of casualties and stranded individuals—at a time when all other forms of communication had failed.

TOWER - Mobile Aluma Tower 50 Renovated
3 section, 50' mobile tower. I bought it and immediately replaced wheels, tires, 2 of 4 jacks and have used it as my home tower for about four years. I recently bought a fixed AlumaTower HN50 to install permanently. Last week or so I replaced the decking with 3/4" pressure treated ply and new support structure with PT 2x4s. The tower has worked flawlessly and I raise and lower it alone. The marine pulleys and cable are excellent. The hand winches have light rust but work fine. I have digital documents for the fixed tower but apply equally to the mobile tower. There are two outriggers which pull out of tubing in the rear to help stabilize. The trailer is galvanized and virtually rust free. It tows easily with my 4 cylinder SUV. I have Kevlar guy lines and an aluminum truck bed box I had bolted to the old decking which can go with it. $4,000 cash firm or possible Elecraft trade. Contact with questions or for more images. This system includes a custom made standoff aluminum BUMPER MOUNT designed for square tubular bumpers found typically on RVs. The BM includes 24 ft of RG-8X and is 43 inches tall. Square U-bolts included. There is a Hustler SS heavy duty antenna spring attached to the bottom of a Hustler 54 inch mast. Resonators are 40, 20, 17, 15 and 10 meters. All resonators, except 17M are the Super Resonator heavy duty. Multi Band Adapter, VP-1, is included. Everything is in very good condition. Price is $350.00 and pick up in Walhalla, SC. RADIOHF - Flex 6300
Bought this new from flex like 6 years ago. Works great. For whatever reason hf TX stopped working (VSWR?) on ant port 1 after a flex software upgrade 2 years ago. So ant 1 has been on 6m ever since. Ant 2 port is fine for hf and 6. Anyway upgraded to a couple 6500’s and pgxl amp so I could use the bucks. Latest 3.10.10 installed. $1200 by MO please shipped, or best offer with pickup and cash. CD for manual and other stuff, dc cable and mic included. I can send other pics as needed. This does not have the jnternal tuner, I have johnson match boxes here for hf, so never needed.
