Heathkit DX-40 Transmitter
This was my 1966-67 Novice rig. Originally built in early 1960’s by a colleague of my father’s. It was first serviced (RTO Electronics, Benton Harbor, MI) and put back on the air in 2007. A complete restoration was performed again in 2020.
It has only been on the air 5 or 6 times since and it operated fine.
In 2020 the following work was completed:
· Power Transformer replaced
· Replaced RF Chokes, Rectifier, final, audio amplifier tubes and Filter Capacitors
· Added Dual Fuse plug on AC Power cord and two-pin mic connector
· The 2007 & 2020 restoration details will be provided
· Includes original DX-40 Assembly Manual
Considering it’s 65-year history, this is an extremely “clean” transmitter inside and out-See Images
Variac tested last week over a 4 day period
There’s a few area’s on the cabinet where finished paint has worn off-See Images
No cabinet scratches, dings or dents.

Ten Tec 1202 HF/VHF dual band wattmeter, was originally a kit. Powered by 9v battery or wall wart of some kind. (No wall wart included-this was a hamfest buy ages ago.)
