RADIOHF - FS: 275V regulator 4 516F-2 and PM-2 PS
Due to old 1956 design of 516F-2, or PM-2 power supply for Collins KWM-2 (A) or 32S series transmitters runs on 125V AC power Voltage, the 516F-2 supply should deliver 275V Low Volt becomes 330V Plus minus during receive mode of KWM-2(A), vacuum tubes get 330V which will shorten life of tubes and cause extreme hot temperatures affect other parts. KWM-2(A)and 32S series transmitter get lot of heat problems. I have a solution to keep the LV to exactly 275V either transmit or receive mode.Using 500V MOSFET and series of Zener regulators,LV is now tightly regulated which helps keep the VFO with no drift and no audio hum as it works as ripple filter.The board is 22mm x 30 mm by size, made with SMD components and can be fit to the sidewall of power supply. First off, I absolutely love the new Ic-7300mk2 but in my current situation with limited antenna space and in a second floor apartment in a new community I think the IC-705 will be a better fit. I have a new ic-7300mk2 with box, mic,manual,power cable and the little plastic bag of fuses and plugs. What I will trade for, a like new with everything that came with the IC-705 and the ICOM tuner or a Elecraft KX3 with KXAT3.
