 FOR SALE: ZENITH TRANSOCEANIC
Have Transoceanic Model G500 Chassis 5G40, using the 1S5. It has all the correct tubes including the 1L6. The outside is very good almost mint. It was reworked on the inside to make it receive like new. The work was done by a well know professional. He could not find the exact electrolytic capacitor for the power supply, so that is not stock looking inside. The way the work was done it can be reversed, if you can find the capacitor. The cord has been replaced. This is a 64 YEAR OLD RADIO. Please make me an informed $ offer. Might consider trading for a MINT FRG-7, IC-703+, ????.

 Collins! 51J-2 AKA R381A receiver
Atlanta near Ga Tech.
Collins 500kc to 30.1Mc receiver.
Good:
-Panel is nice.
-No mica caps to replace!
-Tuning racks and coils in good shape.
-Original manual.
-Mixer modification documented in original manual.
-Relatively rare as only built one year.
-No tobacco!
-Single tube PTO so the whole mess of recalibrating end points by taking turns off the coil does NOT apply.
Minor issues:
-Mixer mod appears to be from a 1960's magazine article on Pullen mixer. No extra holes, easily reversed,
-Drum and round dial paper BADLY foxed. New ones available from a couple of sources or make your own with Tex or other formatting software.
Biggest problem:
-It's dirty! (I have no patience for polishing cars, motorbikes, floors, or radios).
Museum project: http://www.radioblvd.com/Collins%2051J
$195 in Atlanta. Happy to drop off at pack ship within 12 miles of Ga Tech.
$295 if I pack and ship.
Personal check or USPS money order.
73,
Bob
