It has the third-party “OpenGD77” firmware installed, which significantly improves the radio’s capabilities as compared to the manufacturer’s firmware.
It's configured for repeaters in Fort Wayne, Indiana but I will reconfigure it for the buyer's home area at no extra charge.
Even with OpenGD77 firmware, this radio lacks the features of more expensive products, but it uses the same batteries and other accessories as the ubiquitous Baofeng UV-5R FM radio, except that the computer programming cable is different.
