Ad Number:1542097
Date Placed:06/08/21
Name:Jim Botts
Phone Number:(423) 323-5454
Callsign:K4EJQ
Category:RADIOANQ
Heading:FOR SALE: RARE WRL G. SCOUT Model 65
Ad Message:A MODIFIED WRL GLOBE SCOUT MODEL 65 from the 1950's era. Now on 475 KCS-CW ONLY. Unit has four 6146 tubes in parallel in the final stage producing 100 watts output through an added 630 meter bandpass filter. Other than the additional (external 630 meter bandpass filter this package includes extra crystals for the 630 meter band. It also includes a 115 VAC coaxial T/R relay that has been tested to well over 200 watts. This is NOT a " PRETTY" modification but worked well for purpose intended. ONLY A MOTHER COULD LOVE THIS "BEAUTY". The bandpass filter was "tweaked" with a lab-grade spectrum analyzer for maximum attenuation of unwanted harmonics. Will ship. Make offer. Note to buyer- shipping charges recently skyrocketed" ( what hasn't ??) A rough GUESSTIMATE for this item , via US Postal would cost about $50 for the distance and weight . Buyer pays shipping and insurance. Info on mod, is basic at best-NOT FOR BEGINNERS.
Thanks for looking. 73, Bunky, K4EJQ

Your Response to this Ad:

Due to the amount of non-ham scammers trying to respond to the ads, I am now asking a simple question that ham operators should easily be able to answer, but scammers may not know the answer: What is the number that hams use to represent the phrase "Best Regards"? This number is typically transmitted by hams at the end of a QSO.
Best Regards:
