Ad Number:1600436
Date Placed:08/04/22
Name:Chuck Oleson
Phone Number:7753157345
Callsign:WA6PMJ
Category:AMPVHF
Heading:Collins 242F-9C 2 meter linear amplifier
Ad Message:For Sale is a Collins 242F-9C transmitter that has been converted into a 2 meter linear amplifier. The transmitters had a solid state exciter that were modulated at the last stage. The modulated signal was then amplified by two stages of linear amplifier, a 6816 tetrode operating in class "A" driving a 4CX250B tetrode operating in class "AB1". The transmitter was so reliable that many of the were shifted into "Omni" service.
This unit has had the exciter, modulator and associated metering circuits removed and a +12 VDC PTT circuit installed. An input signal of 100 milliwatts produces an RF output signal of 250 watts. It has been operated regularly at 300 watts out. I can not ship this unit, it must be picked up in Genoa, NV. More spare tubes are available. Complete with a spare set of tubes and manual. $250

Your Response to this Ad:

Due to the amount of non-ham scammers trying to respond to the ads, I am now asking a simple question that ham operators should easily be able to answer, but scammers may not know the answer: What is the number that hams use to represent the phrase "Best Regards"? This number is typically transmitted by hams at the end of a QSO.
Best Regards:
