You are responding to the following ad:

Ad Number:1738775
Date Placed:08/06/25
Name:SCOTT P MCDONALD
Phone Number:email only
Callsign:KA9P
Category:RADIOANQ
Heading:Yaesu FT-101 EX
Ad Message:Another vintage Yaesu from the radio closet.
This FT101EX:
1) includes a CW filter
2) has good power output, about 125 watts thru 20 meters, near or at 100 watts through 10 meters (the output is peaked to this for 10 and 11 meters, other 10 meter band slots aren't populated because I removed a number of crystals from the 27 mHz region :)
3) has strong calibrator signals - S9 plus 20 or so thru 20 meters, around S9 below that; and
4) for better or worse has been repainted by me several years ago
5) been tested on USB and LSB and sounds good
Other than that you're on your own, could use some contact cleaner on the function switch and probably others but is operating pretty much as I remember it from the old, old days. You might want to change the filter caps as they look original.
$135 AS IS, cash, firm, please come see it work, western burbs of Chicago (about 1 mile from I88 and 294.) It is too heavy to ship at that price.
Thanks, please contact me direct only at ka9p at aol.com.

Your Response to this Ad:

Due to the amount of non-ham scammers trying to respond to the ads, I am now asking a simple question that ham operators should easily be able to answer, but scammers may not know the answer: What is the number that hams use to represent the phrase "Best Regards"? This number is typically transmitted by hams at the end of a QSO.
Best Regards:
