Ad Number:1743458
Date Placed:09/17/25
Name:Mike Borden
Phone Number:757-343-1201
Callsign:KO4YAO
Category:AMPHF
Heading:MFJ ALS-500m w/ remote, 10/12m $1050 OBO
Ad Message:I have a ALS-500m amp with remote for sale. This amplifier has been slightly modified from factory. It no longer has the cinch jones plu feeding the amplifier. It’s has 1 gauge wire with an Anderson SB-175 connector that feeds the back. Those connectors are good for 175 amp which is was more than it could use. It’s also had the power wires inside upgraded to larger gauge high temp silicon wire to reduce voltage drops to the transistors. Even though it’s a late model amplifier, the PA board was swapped with an older one with 4 actual Toshiba 2879’s and it has the 5w resistors in it, not the 3 watt that were used in the later ones. It comes with a brand new remote and cables for remote operation. The fan has been adjusted to come on sooner and the air passages blocked to force all air into the heatsink. This has only been run after the PA board was swapped and tested into a dummy load. This amplifier is mint. Feel free to call if you have any questions. 757-343-1201. Mike KO4YAO

Your Response to this Ad:

Due to the amount of non-ham scammers trying to respond to the ads, I am now asking a simple question that ham operators should easily be able to answer, but scammers may not know the answer: What is the number that hams use to represent the phrase "Best Regards"? This number is typically transmitted by hams at the end of a QSO.
Best Regards:
