I replaced the 2 power supply filter capacitors and 4 paper capacitors with modern ones, added a 3 wire A/C power cord, and cleaned all switches and potentiometers. I successfully measured several capacitors both for value and leakage. The 1629 eye tube is bright. This tester can be used to check a capacitor both for value and leakage and also great for reforming older electrolytic capacitors. This tester originally sold assembled for $45 in 1960 which would be $492 in todays dollars. A set of test leads and instruction manual are included. Due to the amount of non-ham scammers trying to respond to the ads, I am now asking a simple question that ham operators should easily be able to answer, but scammers may not know the answer: What is the number that hams use to represent the phrase "Best Regards"? This number is typically transmitted by hams at the end of a QSO.
