| Heading: | Sunken Navy Key, restored! Rare! |
| Ad Message: | 1) I got this Navy key on Ebay. To me it had obviously been immersed in seawater, by the salts on the case (shown in pic), prolly from a sunken ship or airplane in the war. When I opened the cavity, it was filled w/whitish-blue salt crystals. I cleaned it all & re-touched the paint. The '26003A' couldn't be seen nor the normal base red Navy anchor stamp, I presume lost to the seawater. 2) Also in the picture from an angle which shows where the seawater had eaten into the side of the case. (See pic) Oddly enough the stainless steel areas looked untouched! The screws in the pic are original! 3) I took 2 new pix after the key was mounted on marble and a jack added. It works fine on a recent ham radio. Sell $175 shipped CONUS (PAYPAL preferred, others ok). Will trade for Kent SP-1 key, Etc. [A letter of verification / validation w/all 4 pix will be included with the key.] |
