- MISC - Navy Key was in seawater, restored! Rare
- 1) This is the Navy Key I purchased from Ebay. To me it had obviously been immersed in seawater, as could be seen by the salts on the case. When I opened up the cavity, it was filled w/whitish-blue salt xtals. (I have a pic) Whether sunk in a ship or airplane I do not know. I cleaned it all and re-touched the paint. The '26003A' was not to be seen nor the normal red Navy Anchor stamp on the base. Both were lost to the seawater, I presume.
2) Below, I took a picture from an angle that shows where the seawater had eaten into the side of the metal case. (Pic shown) Oddly enough the stainless steel areas looked untouched! The screws you see in the picture are original!
3) I took a new pix after the key was mounted on a piece of marble and a jack added for connection. It works fine on a recent ham radio. More pix avail.
Sell $175 shipped (PAYPAL preferred, others ok). Will trade for Kent SP-1 key, Etc.
Letter of verification / validation w/all 4 pix will be included with the key.
