- Up for sale is my JRC NRD-525 receiver. The receiver is in VGC and works as it should. The sale will include the receiver and power cord and the printed manual. I'll sell the receiver for $500 plus shipping. pics are available to serious buyers. Specs are below.
The Japan Radio Company NRD-525 follows in the proud tradition of the NRD-505 and NRD-515. This multimode receiver tunes from 90 kHz to 34 MHz with a 10 Hz digital display. Four independent filter positions are available with a 4 kHz and 2 kHz filter standard. Select stations via manual tuning, up-down tuning, scanning, keypad entry or 200 channel memories. Advanced refinements include: Passband Tuning, Notch Filter, Scan/Sweep, Clock Timer, effective Noise Blanker, Dimmer and Tone Control. The top panel features a built-in speaker. The rear panel has a selectable antenna input and timer relay contacts. The '525' employs modular construction as found on many JRC marine receivers such as the NRD-301.

The receiver is in excellent condition. However...
1. The Antenna and Ground binding posts are mounted on a small plate to "unconvert" from SO-239 mod.
2. There is an RCA female connector (1/4 inch hole) next to the two "Tel" (phone) jacks.
3. The internal male power connector has been unwired (why?) and needs to be put back into its original configuration. Not a problem. Inside is a note from Henry Engstrom to that effect.
Other than that, no internal mods or hacking; no components removed. All-in-all the receiver is just about ready to go. Not checked. Aside from the LV wiring, all BC-224 parts are interchangeable with the BC-348. I will provide a digital copy of the full manual.
