Many people prefer the 500 to the 510 because the 500 has wideband receive and integrated Bluetooth, features that were omitted in the cost-reduced (for Yaesu, not you) 510. The 510s ASP will make things somewhat more listenable when and if you encounter a noisy S1-S3 analog call, but it will also sound more “tinny”. Otherwise you won’t notice the difference, and you’ll be without BT and a full RX band range, and have $200 less in your pocket. Just $469 shipped CONUS.
