Michigan - Amplifier Wanted: Time to find an amplifier in the L.P. of Michigan - what do you have?
Looking for:
- tube finals, 3-500z a favorite.
- complete & working unit, not really looking to buy one already in need of repair unless the issues are very minor and factored into the sale price.
- Rather than look for legal limit+, I would rather find something on the overbuilt side that could ease along at ~600W-1KW. Duty cycle durability stands over P.E.P. as I would like this amp to stay with me for the coming decades and build/component quality are my top consideration but please let me know what you have.
- A homebrew or retired commercial unit that meets the previous critereon would be considered just as much as one sold initially for the amateur market. Rack mount a plus.
Please be willing to drive/meet within reasonable distance of West Michigan. This is to avoid the risks of shipping. After 25 years of holding a license, it finally feels like the right time to adopt an amp.

For Sale: Ten Tec Titan 425 & 253 tuner: For sale is an excellent condition Ten Tec model 425 legal limit amplifier and model 253 automatic 2KW tuner. The amplifier has 2 new 3CX800A7 Eimac tubes just recently installed. The tubes have less than ten minutes transmit time on them. Amplifier easily makes 1500 watts output on all bands into a dummy load. The 253 antenna tuner was made for this amp and performs beautifully. The old tubes were going soft but still makes 1500 watts with 60mA grid current. They will come with the amplifier. A good copy of the manuals will be provided. The tuner and amp will be sold together. I will not separate them. The amp power supply is very heavy so this is a local deal only. I will drive a reasonable distance to avoid shipping. This is a one way deal. Units are sold without any guarantees and will not be refunded.
