Globe Chief Deluxe CW PTT system: Problem with vintage transmitters, worn out rotary function switches. When the switch fails, it is very difficult to locate, and very pricy when you do. To resolve this issue, I sell PTT relay systems which takes the stress off the rotary switch. These were intended for AM transmitters, so PTT stands for "Push to talk". These modules are quite popular. Over the years, I have had many requests for a similar system that would work on CW transmitters. Yes, the function switch gets the same wear & tear in that mode. So, D-lab set out to develop a PTT system for CW transmitters. For the initial test, I acquired a Globe Chief deluxe. It has a rotary function switch which is also well known to fail. OKC Autopatch Association May Meeting: The May Oklahoma City Autopatch Association (OCAPA) meeting will be one week early on Saturday, 11 May, 10:00 AM (or when VE testing is complete) at Wickline United Methodist Church in Midwest City. The meeting will be held in the Wickline fellowship hall.
PLEASE NOTE: In May, we are meeting one week early so as not to conflict with OCAPA members attending Hamvention in Dayton (Xenia), OH.
Also, at 7:30 AM prior to the OCAPA VE test session. We'll meet at Madison's Kitchen in Del City. Madison's Kitchen is on north side of SE 29th just west of Linda Lane at 4747 SE 29th, Del City.

Ham Holiday 2024 will be on Friday, 26 July and Saturday, 27 July at the Oklahoma City Community College (OCCC).

MFJ Retirement.: Not sure if anyone has been paying attention but MFJ is closing its doors to sales for now. They will keep servicing and repairing their products for a while. This closure also includes the many subsidies they also have acquired over the years. The world of ham radio is changing fast as the competition from outside the US undercuts the pricing. Some good some not so good. I wish those of MFJ well and a great retirement.
