Licensed since 1962 under his original call sign, Al was renowned
for his passion for 6-meter DXing, operating a remarkable station
featuring eight long-boom Yagis atop a 220' tower and several

service to the radio community. Al's pioneering spirit and
technical achievements will be fondly remembered by friends and

Fort Wayne IN Hamfest 2025 video
My first time at FT Wayne. The Expo center was very nice! Great Hamfest. Lots of equipment. I picked up a Grundig 800 shortwave receiver, plus a neat little wood Motorola AM radio. Nothing else really pulled at me. Attendance was down as compared to past years. Sign of the times. I enjoy shooting these events as the people are the creators. I plan to make more videos like this.  For Sale “The Ham Bands”
Once a Gentleman’s hobby the social format is changing more like a social media internet platform with a political/religious agenda with a hateful message by hams to hams will have a negative impact on how others outside this hobby perceive us as a community. Why would you’d think others like lobbyists will take us seriously about ham radio needs when many people don’t know how to communicate positive messages between each other. We’re loosing our professional voice regarding the radio hobby in some cases and replacing it with something else that we may regret in the future. Be professional and use kindness when on the air or we may loose our RF spectrum to the corporate institutions who’d sell us out.

 "Scammer Alert"
Here is the latest what scammers are doing that happen to me so be aware. I got two different emails saying that they had the same item I have advertised on QTH.com for sale and did I want to buy it. The emails were from different Gmail accounts. Both had email addresses slightly different from the associated amateur radio call. One even had an “O” in it rather than a “0” which showed it was from a scammer and not the actual ham. So now why are they doing this? It’s to get you to respond and verify that your email address is valid. That way they can slightly alter it along with your call to scam hams either out of their equipment or money. Unfortunately, I responded to one of the emails telling the person I had the item for sale not wanting to purchase it. So be careful. Since it is very easy to get a Gmail account that’s why scammers use Gmail. A lot hams sell equipment on QTH.com so verify any email address that responds to your ad.
