The Amperex 4-250 / 5022 is a high power
transmitting tube, very closely related to
the well known 4-400, and a cousin to the
3-500. It fits the same socket as the 4-400
and 3-500.

The major difference between the 4-250 and
4-400 is that the 4-250 has 250 watts of plate
dissipation, while the 4-400 has 400 watts.
They usually can be used interchangeably as
long as the plate dissipation is not exceeded.

Weak 4-250
This 4-250 has low output.
It is not dead or shorted, but simply has low output.
It would be ideal for testing an amplifier. It is
NOT dead.

The 6CL6 is used as a driver tube in some of the
hybrid rigs, plus many of the older vintage rigs.
Many have found that low power output in these
rigs is due to a weak 6CL6 instead of weak finals.

FS: Amperex 4CX250F Ceramic Tube: NOS Amperex 4CX250F Ceramic output tube. Tube was mistakenly purchased to replace a 4CX250B. As we found out, the circuit for the 4CX250B is a 6 Volt filament as is the 4CX250B. We then found out that the 4CX250F uses a 26.6 Volt filament source…… so this tube is up for sale as maybe it was developed for military use with that filament voltage? $30 shipped CONUS.
