- Chameleon Vertical Antenna system. I pieced this together with individual purchases from Chameleon, HRO and DX engineering. I used this system in areas that I could not use a dipole. Great for portable operation, emergency ops, hiking enthusiasts. All you will need is a coax cable to your radio or tuner.

It's in good shape for it's age.
The radio has had a lot of the common problems already fixed by N1EQ when he was still in the business. Here's the list:
- Replaced both PA driver FETs
- Replaced both SMD 68-ohm resistors on DRV board
-- Replaced R154 on CTRL Unit with 1K.
-- Replaced L2, L6, R41, R42 on PA Unit with updated types.
-- Removed R11 from DRV Board.
-- Added 2 PIN diodes to HRX circuit on CTRL Unit.
-- Added 2 ESD-protection diodes to IC151 on RF Unit.
-- Added copper ground-strap to PA Unit.
- Converted display backlight to LED
- Removed W1603 and W1604 from Main Unit (to enable 60-meter operation).
- Adjusted PA driver bias/idling-current and TX-output levels.
- Tested for proper operation.
Also included in the sale is the IC-746 embroidered radio cover.

any transmitter to almost any antenna. A 4:1
balun is built in.

An antenna selector switch provides
versatile antenna selection. A 50 ohm dummy
load is built in. The MFJ-949B will handle up
to 300 watts from 160 through 10 meters. You
can read SWR, forward power and reflected
power from the meter.

To read forward transmitter RF output power,
simply turn the meter FUNCTION switch to 30 or
300 on FWD. To read reflected power simply turn
the FUNCTION switch to 30 or 300 on REF.

The ANTENNA SEL. switch allows selecting two
coax antennas either direct or thru the tuner,
a balanced line antenna or wire antenna or a
built in 50 ohm dummy load. The 50 ohm dummy
load is rated at 200 watts.
