MY RADIO comes with a power cord, hand mic, Original Manual- on a USB THUMB DRIVE, and has also been modified for MANY MORE CHANNELS than just the original 23...
THIS RADIO has been recently tested putting out 4 to 5 watts, in AM mode (on my BIRD WATT METER...radio meter says 3.5)
There is an issue with intermittent modulation which may be caused by a common problem with the C 53 Capacitor
in the modulation section due to age, or possibly a mic issue?
Anyone with some electrical problem solving talent could (with not much difficulty) do well by taking the time to address the issue. This radio is just too nice to part out-- It's waiting for someone to give it some love, and get lots of RF LOVE right back! Tiny Tim Walkie Talkie: 'Tiny Tim' Type VHF Handie Talkie,
This is not one of those "As is", 'I found it in a barn sales, I don't know how to test it' .
This is a home made handie talkie based on W2MYE's 1950's design. The design circuits are included.
Last time i used it i got 10 miles across town.
It uses a 958 Acorn tube and one 1S4 tube. It has a Stancor Transceiver transformer A3833.
The power output is about 100 milliwatts.
It has a built in collapsible 19 inch whip. It has a super regen receiver. The frequency range is about 144 to 148 MHz.
It runs on 2 - 1.5V cells and 8 - 9V batteries.
The Handie Talkie weighs 3 pounds.

BC-221 QRP, 1/10W: This is a converted BC-221 Frequency Meter.
It looks like an old BC-221 but It has been converted into a 40 Meter CW QRP transceiver.
It has a W8DIZ '1 Watter' inside and a Pacific Antenna, 10 Watt amplifier.
It is has a 1W/10W switch. It is operating Class C. All solid state, no tubes.
The CW keyer inside uses the ATmel AVR Microprocessor Keyer .
The Frequency range is about 7020 to 7038 kHz, CW Only, with no RIT.
It has a wide and narrow CW filter switch. The CW filter is the 4 State QRP HI-PER-MITE, 200Hz at 3 dB.
It comes with a 6 cell (26650) LiIon battery at 12V that lasts forever, 6AH, and includes a battery charger. The rear battery compartment hinge is broken but it 'press fits' into place fine. It has a slight burned smell inside.
It weighs about 15 pounds. 10" x 10" x 13".
It has a speaker, and a CW Keyer, but No key.
It does NOT have an Antenna tuner.
It has the original BG-81 carrying bag.
