Johnson ranger 2: I've got a clean ranger 2 for sale in MA. I will not ship.. some paint off the outer cage and face. I have never keyed it but came up on a variac fine. FOR SALE: Drake 2C receiver: Selling a very clean Drake 2C receiver with the nicest copper chassis I've seen in a long time. It appears to be all original other than a 5x7 speaker mounted inside the top cover which can be easily removed (no added holes) and a SO-239 antenna connector on the rear. Original Sylvania tubes tested strong with one RCA replacement. Controls and switches cleaned and lubricated.
Made a couple of dozen contacts using this 2C on SKN. Does not have the optional Xtal calibrator or noise blanker boards installed. WRL UM-1 modulator: PENDING PICKUP I have a homebrew version of the WRL UM-1 modulator designed to plate moudulate a Globe Chief 90 and other 100 watt class transmitters. At minimum it needs a bias resistor for the 1885/6L6 modulators. It broke. The modulation transformer is a rare CVM-2 multi-impedance unit. I did not have success getting it going and modulating my Lysco 600S though it seemed to have clean audio on the o'scope before I broke the resistor. This is a heavy beast with all that iron so it is very hard to pack and safely ship. I would like this to go to a good home. It's nicely built so I hate to strip it for parts. FREE for pick up in SE Michigan north of Ann Arbor or meet up in the area. Collins 51S-1: Collins 51S-1 Works fine on all bands except 3, 20, and 26 MHz and appears to either have dead crystal or need alignment on those frequencies. All other frequences are as s/n as expected and receive well. The readout dial was changed to a LED block of 48 led bulbs. The added components were a 12 volt supply, a 12 volt transformer and a mjni fan. only 2 extea holes were drilled into the internal holding brace inside the chassis and double sided removable tape wase used for mounting except for the power supply. All removed parts will be included with manual. The complete above conversion is reversible to original condition. Condition of this unit iis 9 to 9-1/2 out of 10 for case, trim ring, front panel, and chassis.
